Hello everyone, I hope all is well. As we continue to celebrate Advent, let’s be reminded of God’s love for us each day. Yesterday, we talked about joy and how we can obtain it by living one day at a time, having faith in God and just focusing on the day. Wherever there’s joy, peace comes to us. Peace comes when we put God first in our lives and become dependent on Him as we walk on our journey. Peace also comes when we humble ourselves to know that life is not about us but more about serving the entire Body of Christ. Finally, peace comes when we can LET GO AND LET GOD. In other words, give God our burdens so that we can rest and not stress. We spend a lot of time doing the following: Worrying about how we’re going to get this and that Worrying about how we’re going to get back at somebody Worrying about what others are doing Worrying about what our spouse or other significant may say Worrying about our children Worrying about how we’re going to pay this and that Worrying about how we look I can go on and on and on but the bottom line is none of that is important because it makes no sense to worry about something we don’t have control over. We can’t control what others do or feel and we all have to find our way. Each one of us was given a life to live and it’s up to us to do the right thing and accept God’s grace so why worry and instead let individuals figure it out. It’s healthy for all of us if we figure it out on our own but it does help when we love our neighbor and pray for them. In addition to not having control over what people do, why do we worry about getting materials things or trying to get revenge on others. Materials things come and go and we want to be appreciative of the things that God gives to us. Who cares about what others have, it really doesn’t change the world. However, when we try to get revenge or back at people, that’s negative and serves no purpose and actually, it really damages the person who’s trying to get revenge. Let’s wake up and stop wasting time so we can enjoy life. We all need things here and there but let’s remember that God knows what we need. For example, if there’s a bill to pay, try your best and pray to God to help you. The only thing we can do is do our best and seek resources for help. Let’s not worry because God is still working in our lives. When we’re going through something, let’s not look like we’re stressed. Get up, fix yourself up and trust God. He’s got your back. There’s no need to be looking stressed out. Where is the joy and please know that hope is alive. All I’m saying is let’s stop putting stress on ourselves, stay positive even when things appear to be bad and have FAITH IN GOD AND GIVE HIM YOUR BURDENS. The things that we go through are temporarily but when we hold on in the midst of it, we will see the victory and what God is doing in our lives. That’s the truth and I’m a witness to that statement. Peace will come when we let go and let God especially when we try our best and do our best. Below is the Serenity Prayer. I love to read it over and over again because we can only do what we can when we can. When we know that and live that, we will experience peace. Serenity Prayer God, grant me the Serenity To accept the things I cannot change... Courage to change the things I can, And Wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time, Enjoying one moment at a time, Accepting hardship as the pathway to peace. Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, Not as I would have it. Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His will. That I may be reasonably happy in this life, And supremely happy with Him forever in the next. Also, I like to share the Footprints in the sand again because we have to learn to trust God if we want peace in life. These quotes talks about how powerful the Lord is and the love that He will always have for us. Footprints in the Sand One night I dreamed a dream. I was walking along the beach with my Lord. Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, one belonging to me and one to my Lord. When the last scene of my life shot before me I looked back at the footprints in the sand. There was only one set of footprints. I realized that this was at the lowest and saddest times of my life. This always bothered me and I questioned the Lord about my dilemma. “Lord, You told me when I decided to follow You, You would walk and talk with me all the way. But I’m aware that during the most troublesome times of my life there is only one set of footprints. I just don’t understand why, when I need You most, You leave me.” He whispered, “My precious child, I love you and will never leave you, never, ever, during your trials and suffering,. When you saw only one set of footprints, It was then that I carried you.” Please read the word that talks about peace and click the link to listen to the beautiful song that display a loving message regarding this entire message. PHILIPPIANS 4:6,7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
