As we all know, the situation we’re in today is absolutely insane. When I go to the store, I feel like I’m in a movie seeing everyone wearing facemasks and gloves. I’m always watching my back and it’s way too much but in every trial or tribulation, we have to see the positive side of things to gain peace and joy in order to cope and stay sane so let’s continue to keep our heads up and know that this too shall pass.
I’m going to try and keep this quick and to the point but sometimes it’s hard when you talk from the heart so I hope that you get some blessings from these words of wisdom, prayer or reflection. The Coronavirus Pandemic has taken us to another place on our journey and have us all thinking about life. What’s going to happen next, what if this, what if that? Well, I don’t know about you but what I know is God is still in control of it all and we’re not. Don’t take this negative but I think sometimes we get so caught up in ourselves that we lose the focus of striving to be holy or being sensitive to others. Sometimes it’s not intentional because we all are hurting in some form or another in our lives and sometimes we react to how we feel. This situation is teaching all of us what’s really important, what’s not important and how we as people can come together to contribute to the mission set by God. During this mess, we have to not forget that we’re still in the Easter Season - the resurrection and the opportunity for new life even through the Coronavirus. I think it’s strange that all of this happened during Easter Season. As I think about Easter, it brings me back to my childhood and as an adult so it’s two-fold: One: As a child, all I can remember is dressing up, getting a new outfit, getting my hair done, dying eggs and eating lots of candy. That was the life and I wish I can go back. Those of you who don’t know, I grew up in a single-parent household and my mom had to work hard to take care of us so she didn’t really have time to tell us everything but she did teach us about Jesus and the importance of love by her actions. So I consider that being good teaching because she showed us rather than telling us the meaning of Easter and the importance of our relationship with the Lord. Two, as I got older, that’s when the real meaning came into play. (The struggles) You know we all have problems and we’re on this journey trying our best to make it and sometimes it’s tough depending on the situation and what I’ve learned over the years is that life is not about us, it’s not about material things, it’s not about titles but more about what we’re doing, how we’re allowing God to work in our lives and how we’re treating others and giving hope to the world. That’s real During my journey, I have encountered many things that I didn’t understand and I thought I wasn’t able to make it through but I’ve learned that Jesus is Love, Jesus forgives and Jesus gives us peace so as an adult during this time I have an opportunity to refresh my relationship with him, own up to my mistakes, have some kind of accountability of my actions to heal, remind myself to let go and let God and to begin again with his love. That takes faith and knowing the true meaning of His sacrifice for all of us. I’ve learned that God does miracles every day in our lives by allowing us to still be here, by allowing us to share in his glory and by loving us unconditionally. I’m 52 years old I think oh I stop counting lol but the bottom line is we don’t have much time here and we don’t know what tomorrow may bring. We’ve learned that through the coronavirus. Let’s not sweat the small stuff but be true to ourselves in doing what’s right and just. So even though we’re in this mess, again, we’re still in the Easter season. God has given us a second chance to live and every time I think about my problems or what’s around me, I think about what he did for me and for us. My problems don’t even come close to his sacrifice. When we learn the importance of his Divine Mercy and sacrifice, we’re able to begin to live with peace and joy. That’s very important to me because life is not good all the time and when we know of his love, we’re able to cope though the good and the bad because he has a plan for each and every one of us. So if you’re going through something, hold on, trust Him and you will come out on the other side praising his name especially if it’s out of your control. I ask all of you again to pray for my mother doing this time because she’s dealing with lung cancer and actually pray for the entire family. In life, we all need strength when we’re in the storm and at the same time, let’s pray for each other that God helps us to find peace on our journey and through this Coronavirus Pandemic know that it’s all in the palm of His hands. Let’s not lose the faith but know that during this time, we can still win when we work together as one Body of Christ and trust in our Lord. To conclude, I realize through these times, God is helping me not to worry about what happened yesterday but to see what’s in front of me today. I hope you do the same and know that Jesus is love. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E62ZfiHiCYc Amen and Amen.
