Taking time out for others

When you were down, who helped you?   Someone had to be there for you.   They took time out for you.  If people take time out for us, we need to take time out for them.  I use to be very selfish.  I was so much into me that I didn’t think I had time for people.  My life was just too busy.  I didn’t know the purpose of life.  I was going 50 miles per hour and not accomplishing anything important.  It’s funny now but back then, I was miserable.  When I started to take time out for people, my life changed.  It changed because God worked through others to help me do what I had to do.  I’m going to share one of my experiences with you.  I had an experience that changed my entire life.  This is why I know taking time out to listen to others is important. 
 
God sent me a messenger and it helps me to this day.  It was something I heard on a television show.  I don’t remember the name of the show because I was sort of sleeping when I heard the words.  This is why I know it was God because I had awaked out of my sleep just to hear this lady speak.  It was an elderly Caucasian lady.  I was just so amazed at what she said.  She said “when we awake in the morning, we have a choice; to be happy or sad”  “We should choose to be happy and make the very best out of our day”  I was so touched by what I heard that I use that philosophy every day of my life.  It’s common sense if you want to enjoy your day.  I mentioned her race because there are so many people who are losing out on life because they feel that they are more important than others.  We all are Gods children and everybody is special.  We're living in a world that's divided or seem to be moving that way but we still have the obligation to be an example of God. It will get better I hope but again we have to still do our part.  Remember I told you that everybody need somebody so if we act negative like others, nothing will change.  Jesus changes things and nothing is impossible.  
 
Every race is beautiful and God has created all of us.  I don’t care what color or race you are, you’re still human and you’re just like anybody else.  We all help one another but if you put up a wall, you may never get the help that you need to fulfill your purpose or to be at peace with your life.  I really don’t understand the logic but I don’t have to understand it.  I just have to control my life so that I could be at peace. I  know sometimes we get hurt or try to protect ourselves but just be cautious and know who you're working with from his or her actions. 

God guides us and sometimes he sends people to help.  You can be missing an important message if you’re not taking time out.  Thank you God.  I know sometimes life gets busy but even if we stop for a little out of our day for others, you'll start to learn more about yourself and the mission set by God.

On that same show, I was also taught something else.  God taught me to stop judging other people.  There was a lady who worked as a cashier in a food store.  A man went to pay for his items.  As he had placed his items on the counter, he looked at the lady.  The lady had a sad face.  She didn’t speak to him at all and he thought because he was the customer, he should have been greeted.  He said to her “I’m your customer and you can at least give me a smile.  She looked at him and said “I apologized sir but my husband just passed away and I have three young children at home, I’m having a hard time dealing with the pain.”  He felt so bad that he had to apologize to her.  Since then, I try not to judge people and I thank God for allowing me to hear those words. 
 
Remember, listening is important.  You never know what you may hear.  Take time out for people and always know that God speaks through others.
 

LISTENING
 
Taking time out for people is something we must do
Because we may need a hug or two 

We all go through things and sometimes it’s hard
Listen to people and stay on guard
 
In knowing that everybody needs a hand
Once in a while to help them stand
 
Listening is learning to help us to grow
In some area that I do know
 
God sends us messages to teach us things
To show us all the good that He brings
 
We are here for a reason please understand
God is moving you, listen to others and hold their hand

You never know what you may hear
Sometimes the words are for you my dear
 
Thank God for allowing you to hear those precious words
Everybody needs a chance to be heard.
 
Listen to others and know that God speaks through people.
