On our journey, we all have had ups and downs and because of those times we reacted in certain ways the best way we knew how. I’m sure it was various reasons that caused us to be in certain spaces in our lives. Sometimes it was too much stress, sometimes it was working too much and not feeling like we’re getting ahead, some of us were in relationship that were not healthy, some of us had to deal with tragedies, some of us just got tired of being tired. I can go on and on but I think you get the point.
Through all of those experiences, it had an impact on our lives and it caused us to be where we are today. It doesn’t matter what we did or didn’t do, we can’t go back to those times. What we can do is take a look at how we were living and what caused us to put ourselves in situations that didn’t have our best interest. As we get older, we tend to see things more clearly and we start to think about why we did what we did, why we wasted so much time and sometimes we felt depressed and put a pause on our lives. This is a New Day! I’m here to tell you that I was in space in my life years ago where I was depressed and I did things that I knew wasn’t good for me and I made excuses to why I was doing what I was doing. I did waste a lot of time doing nothing but one thing I have to say is I learned from my mistakes and through all of that, I always prayed to God to help me get back on track. I’m still learning but I’m not depressed and I know who’s holding my hand each and every day. I’m not ashamed to say what I went through because that was my life and I made mistakes, it made me a better person because I was able to see all of that while I was in those moments and identify what was good and bad for me. After seeing how it was affecting my life, it gave me an opportunity to take advantage of what God was showing me and do something about it. I knew I was loved by God the entire time of my depression but I still made excuses. It’s when I had nothing left in me that I knew I had to make a decision to trust Him and accept life for what it was on my journey. I had to acknowledge what I was doing and make changes. That was my life. Now, what works for me, may not work for you but I do know that we can’t stress on the past but we can learned from our mistakes and work towards getting things right for ourselves. Again, we have got to acknowledge our mistakes and take ownerships of what we did wrong so we don’t fall in those spaces again. Sometimes we have to take a step back from people who don’t have our best interest as well because when we place ourselves in negative environments, it does something to us and before you know it, we become the environment. I wrote this wisdom because there are so many people who can’t move on because of their past or not having the courage to begin again. If this is you, it’s okay and all you have to do is ask God to help you and trust Him one day at a time. God wants us to be happy, at peace and have joy through the good and the bad so let’s be open to His grace, His divine mercy and allow Him to work in our lives even through our faults. I always say that yesterday is done but today has so many opportunities to live. Let’s live before we die and let’s not die before we live. Amen and Thank You God
